About Sada Journal

Sada Journal is an independent bilingual online magazine publishing essays, analysis and criticism in English and Arabic.

We write about the things people actually argue about at dinner: politics and the economy, fashion and music, sport, cinema and travel. Some pieces are quick reads, others take their time. What they share is a point of view – we would rather be interesting than neutral, and honest than loud.

“Sada” (صدا) means echo. The idea behind the name is simple: good writing should carry further than the page it was written on.

Our languages

Every article appears in both English and Arabic. The two versions are written to be read, not translated word for word – each language gets the version that sounds natural in it.

Editorial standards

Everything on this site is original writing. We do not republish wire copy or scraped content. Opinions belong to their authors. If we get something wrong, write to us and we will fix it.

من نحن

مجلة صدا مجلة إلكترونية مستقلة ثنائية اللغة، تنشر مقالات وتحليلات ونصوصاً نقدية بالعربية والإنجليزية في السياسة والاقتصاد والموضة والموسيقى والرياضة والسينما والسفر.

«صدا» تعني الصدى، وقد اخترنا هذا الاسم لأننا نؤمن بأن الكتابة الجيدة يجب أن يمتد صداها أبعد من الصفحة التي كُتبت فيها.

كل مقال يُنشر باللغتين، وكل نسخة تُكتب بلغتها الطبيعية لا ترجمةً حرفية. جميع ما ننشره محتوى أصلي، والآراء الواردة فيه تعود إلى كُتّابها.
